Volunteer RA Positions

Thank you for your willingness to volunteer in the Singlehood Experiences and Complexities Underlying Relationships (SECURE) Lab! Working in the SECURE lab can be a lot of fun and you have the opportunity to gain unique first-hand experience in a multi-method lab involving behavioural observational data, intensive longitudinal data, physiological recordings, and experimental methods.

If you plan on applying, please ensure that you:

  1. have completed and received an A or A+ in PSYC 362 (Close Relationships) and/or PSYC 361 (Individual Differences) at SFU or a similar courses at another university institution. This is to ensure you have mastered foundational knowledge about close relationship and singlehood theories and methods.

  2. are able to attend the bi-weekly SECURE Lab meetings on Fridays from 12.00pm - 1.30pm. This is an important way to keep up to date with the various research projects being conducted in our lab, connect with lab members, gain experience presenting research, hear from other scholars, and take part in workshops to build important professional skills.

  3. are willing to commitment a minimum of 2 semesters and 10 hours a week. This is to ensure that you have enough time getting the right training, and have time to put that training to good use.
